Efthimis Filippou is a screenwriter and freelance journalist. With director Yorgos Lanthimos he co-wrote the script for the film 'Dogtooth', a dark and comic allegory on family dynamics and adolescent sexuality. The film was awarded  the 'Un Certain Regard' prize at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and received an Oscar nomination in the category ‘Best Foreign Film’. Their recent collaboration for their new film 'Alps' was awarded with 'Osarella for Best Screenplay' at the 2011 Venice Film Festival.
